Madama Butterfly

This animated version of Madama Butterfly is a woman who dreams of her future. The man in the opening scene has a one night stand with her and she ends up being pregnant. This is a japanese women who stays on the hill overlooking the habor and doesn't leave this hill the whole time the man is away in the Navy. Years later he returns to the hill to find Madama and the baby. All he does is take the baby and leave with a new woman he met. Madama ends up killing herself because she just couldn't take the pain.
The way this animated version was made, was done very well. It makes it very easy to understand what happens in the actual opera and how it has the dramatic ending. At the time the opera was based around, it was a great representation of how men actually treated women at the time when they were in the Navy or an force. I think the opera itself was quite disturbing but played out very well done with animation. From my perspective of never hearing of this opera until now, I feel as if I could totally give someone a base idea of what this opera is about. The animated version was laid out short & sweet, yet gave each detail of the play so well.
